As I continued my quest for order and simplicity today...
I had an epiphany...
An awakening.
I was cleaning out yet another part of my "space"...
Feeling completely overwhelmed...
When it hit me.
THIS... is my life...
When I can't don't want to "deal" with something...
I put it somewhere...
In a closet...
A drawer...
Under the bed...
In the basement.
Anywhere...
So I don't have to "deal" with it.
Wouldn't it be so much easier to "deal" with it NOW...
Instead of waiting until the closet door won't close...
Or the drawer is overflowing...
Or your mind feels like it might explode...
I tried to explain this to my family...
That we (I) need to "deal" with things before they become "undealable".
They just looked at me like I was nuts...
Babbling on and on about some crazy "Mom thing".
They JUST don't get it...
I guess they can't don't want to "deal" with it!
But I do!
And I am...
And feels good!

i hadn't thought of it like that much you're so right!

I get it. Sometimes I get to zealous in my efforts and thats caused a few problems too. How ever I noticed when I can deal with something there's a peacefulness I enjoy. Right now the granddaughters are ruling the roost and while its not peaceful, its certainly enjoyable.

oh...I think this IS my problem. The teetering stacks of junk and the to do list that does not ever get smaller.
slow down, breath deeply and do only what I can focus on in this moment.
this is my mantra!

Cleaning out in pursuit of orderliness and space can be revealing as you observe the moments(almost forgotten) of your life and the lives and words, comments and declarations of those you love and those who love you! Good Memories are to grab and hold tight. Remember you are blessed with those who surround you and are the moments that make memories happen! XOX, Mom

Going through the same thing here. Have to get rid of a ton of "stuff". Books already read or not interested in anymore, bins of fabric I won't use, clothes I'll never wear again, numerous junque drawers. Simplify.

Tässä on mökkikoneeni. Olen ompelemassa kahvipusseista kassia. pusseja en ole saanut kerättyä kovin paljoa, joten kassista tuli aika kirjava. Suikaleiden ompelussa kului yllättävän paljon aikaa by joy.

Over the years I have made it my very own, and I call this one a "keeper" after trying many different meatloaf recipes. My sister gave it the award-winning name, and I decided I liked that.
